ADHD

ADHD, or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, is a neurodevelopmental disorder that commonly manifests in childhood and can persist into adulthood. Individuals with ADHD often experience persistent patterns of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity that can significantly impact their daily functioning and quality of life.

The inattentive aspect of ADHD may manifest as difficulty sustaining attention, making careless mistakes, forgetfulness, and struggles with organization. On the other hand, hyperactivity involves excessive fidgeting, restlessness, and impulsivity, leading to hasty decision-making without thorough consideration of consequences.

ADHD can affect various aspects of life, including academic and occupational performance, relationships, and overall well-being. While the exact cause of ADHD is not fully understood, a combination of genetic, neurological, and environmental factors is believed to contribute to its development. Treatment approaches typically involve a combination of behavioral interventions, psychoeducation, and, in some cases, medication to manage symptoms and enhance daily functioning.

  • Forgetfulness and disorganization, leading to challenges in managing belongings, assignments, or daily responsibilities.

  • Struggles in following instructions and staying on task, despite understanding the expectations, indicating issues with attention and focus.
